Thanks, Rachel. Yes, really one shouldn’t check the value of equity based investments too frequently, as inevitably they go up and down. I don’t always follow my own advice though!

Thanks for your detailed reply, Caz. I think Annie was unlucky with Barclays, as the first device they sent her for logging in to her account didn’t work properly. But there were other issues too. She found setting up an account with Metro Bank a lot more straightforward.

Yes, I was lucky to be able to visit Llandudno just days before the whole area was put into lockdown. I guess I won’t be going anywhere else for a while now 🙁

Finally, yes, having laser treatment on my eye was nerve-racking. But of course it was a lot better than having a detached retina

Glad to hear Annie has received the first chunk of matched-betting cash but it’s a shame about Barclays. I’m with them & use their online banking; I find the online side of things okay but the rates generally for any accounts are abysmal. I actually looked into getting a Metro account when I heard they were opening in our town, but I’m not sure if they are any more so it’s on the back burner for now. As for matched betting, that’s another thing I’ve been meaning to try but still haven’t, I think because the worry of getting it all wrong is too much for me!

It’s great you have a good and safe break in Llandudno, sounds like you did that just in time. I’m sorry about your eye though – that definitely sounds nerve-wracking to have the treatment done! On the positive side as you say it’s good they spotted it when they did. xx
