Pounds and Sense

Welcome to Pounds and Sense. My name is Nick, and I am a 60-something with a particular interest in personal finance and investment matters. I am a (mostly) retired freelance writer living near Lichfield in Staffordshire, UK. You can read more about me if you wish on my About Me page.

Please do take some time to explore my site using the links in the menu above. You can see my latest posts by clicking on Blog, or zero in on any of the other categories listed in the menu. Note that many of the main categories have sub-categories as well, which you can see by mousing over them.

If you like what you see here, I invite you to register to receive email updates whenever the blog is updated or when I have other useful information to share. You can sign up in the box in the right-hand column and can of course unsubscribe at any time. I hate spam with a passion and promise never to use your email address for any purpose other than this or to share it with anybody else.

As this blog is mainly about saving and making money, I don’t suppose you’ll be surprised to learn that I hope to make a few pounds from it as well. I aim to do this through affiliate marketing and other standard methods (e.g. Google Adsense). I am also happy to consider requests to publish sponsored/guest posts on Pounds and Sense, as long as the articles in question are original, high quality, and not spammy. I do charge a fee for such posts.

  • If you are looking for more creators to work with, you may like to create a listing today in the Get Blogged Marketplace. It’ll be shared with a community of authentic, reliable, and genuine bloggers who will send you pitches within hours.

Pounds and Sense is a UK blog, and I am therefore writing primarily with UK readers in mind. Non-UK readers are of course very welcome here too, but some of the information and opportunities discussed may not be relevant or indeed available to you.

I welcome comments and questions on Pounds and Sense. Please note that I am not a financial services professional, however. I can’t provide personal financial advice and just present my view on financial matters and share useful resources when I find them.

I do hope you enjoy reading Pounds and Sense, and look forward to reading your comments and questions.
